Ideas from Our Facebook Fans

More than 130 party pointers were submitted by Lottery Facebook fans during a promotion in early December. Here are suggestions for how to make your party pop from the five lucky winners:

  • “I would give out 3-5 Louisiana Lottery scratch-off tickets to each guest as they walk in. They would NOT be allowed to scratch the tickets until it was time. I would have a "naughty word" that could not be said throughout the party, for example: work, office or boss. If a guest was heard saying the special word, the "potty mouth" would have to give up a scratch-off to the person who heard. In the end, the person with the least amount of tickets remaining would have to wear elf ears and serve other guests.” –Tiffany Dixon-King, Baton Rouge
  • “To me, pulling off the perfect holiday isn’t about getting dressed up to the 9's. It’s about being comfortable and having some good old traditional fun. I organized a work party once where we had games, like build a gingerbread house, except each guest had a partner and stood shoulder-to-shoulder their two touching arms tied behind their backs. That meant each team had to act as one, with one hand each!” – Amber Perry, Shreveport
  • “Cook good food, do line dancing, tell jokes and have a dancing contest. We would have door prizes based on guests’ ages and then have an eating contest with homemade Christmas cookies: 12 cookies to eat in 3 minutes with milk is the best part of the night!” – Donald Brown Jr., Shreveport
  • “All parties need plenty to eat, plenty to drink and lots of family and friends. Just to make things interesting we hang Lottery scratch-off tickets with the mistletoe and whoever shares a kiss wins a ticket. Of course we have them all over so we can show the love and have fun scratching the tickets to see who is a winner.  We celebrate each win BIG or small. Try this at your next party to absolutely make your part POP!!!” – Pamela Vincent, Jennings
  • “I have a huge chalk board at the entrance to my party and on it I write, ‘When posting pictures on Instagram, Facebook, Twitter or any social media please use the hashtag #LauraLeesHolidayParty.’ This way I can see all the pictures taken from different guests and so can they. Of course it's always awesome to capture as many memories as possible!” – Laura Cormier, Kinder
